JOB DESCRIPTION: Senior Program Manager

(Full-Time; 37.5 hours/week)

Position Description:

The Senior Program Manager is an integral member of the National Kidney Foundation of Illinois’ (NKFI) Programs Department.  The Senior Program Manager is responsible for planning, growing and developing, implementing, and managing the Foundation’s programming for healthcare professionals. The Senior Program Manager will provide support and guidance to engage healthcare professionals in NKFI activities and advance professional initiatives throughout Illinois.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

​

  • Manage the Foundation’s signature programming for healthcare professionals including Controversies in Nephrology, Citywide Grand Rounds, the Interdisciplinary Nephrology Conference, and Renal Roundtables. Responsibilities include planning program logistics and collaborating with stakeholders to design programming to meet the needs of professional learners. 

  • Manage the Continuing Education Unit (CEU) application process and ensure programming is compliant with all accreditation requirements and standards.  Maintain accurate records and reporting regarding course attendance and completion. 

  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of programs and make changes as needed to improve learner outcomes, professional engagement, and overall satisfaction. 

  • Stay up-to-date on trends in adult learning and continuing education and grow programming to continue to meet the needs and interests of professional learners. 

  • In collaboration with the NKF Communications and Marketing team, oversee the marketing and promotional efforts for programs to ensure they are well attended.  Develop and implement a communication strategy to engage professionals throughout Illinois.

  • Participate in Professional Advisory Board (PAB) Executive Committee Meetings and serve as the NKFI liaison for the Illinois Council on Renal Nutrition (ICRN). 

  • Facilitate Clinical Considerations workgroup, developing and implementing strategies to advance CKD care within Illinois. 

  • Identifies Quality Improvement (QI) opportunities and builds out processes to advance QI initiatives. 

  • Develop and maintain annual program budgets, track program expenses and income receipt for all NKFI professional programs; reconcile income and expenses. 

  • Track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for professional programming and provide suggestions for improvement based on KPIs. 

  • Other duties as assigned


Qualifications:

  • Excellent verbal, presentation, public speaking, interpersonal, and written communication skills. 

  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills; rigorous attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple projects and adhere to strict deadlines. 

  • Ability to maintain professionalism in stressful situations.

  • Ability to think strategically and use independent judgement. 

  • Good keyboard and MS application (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) skills. 

  • Experience with an accreditation or credentialing organization preferred. 

  • Must have a valid driver’s license; carry current insurance on personal vehicle when driven on Foundation business and be insurable to drive for Foundation business.  

  • Must be able to lift at least 35 pounds.

Education:

Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited four-year college or university.  Master’s degree preferred.
