The Loretto Hospital and Loretto Hospital Foundation announced the return of its free summer screening series designed to heighten community awareness and intervention against the health risks disproportionately impacting Chicago’s West Side.
The first of four planned monthly events will take June 3, in Loretto Hospital’s physicians parking lot, 645 S. Central Ave.
From 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., residents are invited to take advantage of a range of free health screening opportunities, speak with hospital staff, and gather health education materials and other informational resources.
Interested individuals can donate blood at Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc., Nu Pi Chapter’s blood drive. Walk-ins are welcome and appointments will be honored. Every successful donor will receive a free Bluetooth speaker while supplies last.

Among other community partners onsite, the National Kidney Foundation of Illinois will provide free kidney and diabetes screenings. Participants must be 18 or older and pre-register here.
Healthcare professionals will be available to discuss individual screening results.
Participating partners in the Loretto Hospital Summer Screening Series include Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc. (Nu Pi Chapter), Versiti Blood Center of Illinois, National Kidney Foundation of Illinois, Fathers Who Care, Black Men United, Habilitative Systems Inc. and University of Illinois Cancer Center.
