We are thrilled to announce that on Thursday, April 11, both SB 68 (Living Donor Tax Credit for Private Businesses) and HB 2847 (Living Donor Protection Act) unanimously passed through the legislature. You can read more about the bills here.
SB 68 will be presented before the House for vote and HB 2847 will be presented before the Senate. We anticipate positive response for both bills.
These bills will ensure that living donors are protected from common barriers to donation by allowing for living donor leave and barring workplace retaliation for taking living donor leave.
We are grateful to all of the advocates statewide who called or visited their legislators and made the passage of these bills possible!
Special thanks goes our Research and Advocacy Manager Corinne Loftus and our Director of Programs Megan Craig for their tireless work on these bills!
