a global effort
for everyone, everywhere
In honor of the 850 million people worldwide who are estimated to be battling kidney disease, every year the National Kidney Foundation of Illinois joins with healthcare organizations and advocacy groups on every continent to commemorate World Kidney Day. This bold, global awareness campaign is focused on raising awareness of issues relating to kidney health, and welcomes new supporters from all corners of the globe into our fight.
Every year, the NKFI honors World Kidney Day with unique, community events. Our plans differ year-to-year, but they often include an extra-large health screening session, lobbying/advocacy pushes, and special youth programming.
If you are unable to attend the National Kidney Foundation of Illinois' World Kidney Day events, consider observing the day yourself by organizing your own #TeamKidney effort. You can use the awareness day to raise funds in support of the NKFI's free educational services; create a tribute for someone you know touched by kidney disease; or even organize a simple fundraiser on Facebook.
